Would be surprising to me if the Jets do anything today.

They have made their moves - for DeMelo and Eakin - I really wouldn't be surprised if that's it.

The best moves the Jets could make IMO, is reunite the lines of:
Connor-Scheifele-Laine
Ehlers-Wheeler - Copp
Harkins-Roslovic- Appleton
and maybe
Chibisov-Eakin-Shore?
Just by making those moves would strengthen the team. Why they broke up the 3rd line yesterday is beyond comprehension!

They could use another 4th liner unless Perreault is ready
to return shortly. Maybe they will dabble there today, we'll see.

Obviously we need to make a major move for a 2nd line C or top-pairing d-man, but those moves will no doubt come in the summer.

We're kind of down - but not out - yet. Make the playoffs and one never knows. The Jets, in most games, have played better since the all-star break.

I'm thinking we're sitting pretty tight today. Maybe I'll be wrong (again)?

Please do nothing CHevy. This team is clearly not ready to battle and compete and do what it takes to get into the playoffs. In the end there top end is just not good enough.

What would it have taken for the Jets to have made the Trocheck trade? Even just getting Haula would have been good but I guess he's he's too skilled/not gritty enough for this team?

I way would have preferred the Namestnikov trade then the Eakin trade, Namestnikov could have slotted in the top 6 for Copp cause Copp has been really bad lately.

That Pageau trade was an overpay, glad we didn't do that.

depends who is available and at what cost. This group is really just a couple pieces from being a contender - however - pieces like that are not easy to find, acquire and then hopefully retain.

I think its important to get back in the playoffs for the experience of that situation.
Shaping the roster to help get there (Eakins/DeMalo) are good tweaks. Doing nothing is not a bad option either. The team is so young that just keeping them intact will result in progression for next year though getting to the playoffs is a crapshoot.

At some point the team will need to add some players like a "Kreider" like calibre to augment this young core.

I think a skilled winger will have to be sacrificed this summer to fill some holes at 2 c or top pairing D. Just thinking out loud and ppl won't like it but Laine has improved his game, somewhat, is unsigned after next year and who know what he wants as a next contract.

Connor is signed 6 more years, Ehlers another 4 or 5 years so I think the lamb will be Laine.

So I agree, how long does the team keep going young? At some point you have to start doing some deals and to get something good, the team will have to give up something good. Just my thoughts.

Well this team will be "younger" next year. With Byfuglien being bought out and Little most likely on LTIR, the average age on the team will drop again.

hey Ultimate,

its already starting to leak out how disliked AA was in Detroit locker room. I am so happy we didn't touch that guy!!!! I don't care what #'s he puts up with 97, he will hurt that team more.

Its hard to be liked in any dressing room when the team is losing. I think Detroit has lost 45 games this year. He may well have been disliked for perhaps demanding more from his teammates. Holland knows him best and I am sure he's well aware of the occurrences in the Detroit locker room.

I am at home today and listenting to the panel talk about AA was not very complimentary. But the discussion about AA was about his lack of defensive focus. Burke is not impressed with AA.

I find it funny that Trouba was excited to play with his buddy Brady Skjei and now Skjei is gone!

Ahhh, it seems that anytime a player of colour gets traded there are always some sort of undertones....

I am not saying anything....its really odd that the narrative around players of colour: Subban, Ho-Sang, Kane, etc... seems to always be negative.....

You are insinuating that there is racism at play on the TSN panel. You are making dangerous assertions my friend for a purpose that is unknown.

Good bye UJ,you don't exist anymore.

Where am I mentioning anything about TSN or any media personality for that matter? Like I stated I find it peculiar that the players mentioned all get placed under a negative light.

What about all the players of colour with positive comments? You don’t want to mention them? Is it because you don’t pay attention to that and only focus on the negative?

Did the Jets fans boo Odouya when he came back to play here? I don’t recall that.
Does Seth Jones get booed and have negative undertones?
What about Trevor Daley? Want me to continue?

You need to admit you were wrong in your comments and own it UJ

When is the last time you ever admitted to being wrong?

You should also read my comments more closely, I mentioned that after players get traded, lots of negativity gets written about them. Might as well boo Oduja, he did cause the first ever goal against the Jets on that brutal giveaway. That's probably the reason he was the first ever 2.0 Jet to be traded!

So out of all the players traded today he was the only long serving member of his team who's character was questioned?

this is what you wrote,

Ahhh, it seems that anytime a player of colour gets traded there are always some sort of undertones....

maybe you need to re read it?

I have admitted to being wrong plenty, Canuck fan makes me say sorry ten times a year for saying he has a man crush on Dion. a couple years back I wanted the Jets to sign Jussi Jokinen ( that was a big mistake ), I wrote off Hainsey about 4 years early, I thought Burmistrov would have a better career than Kane. I admit being wrong often.

no, Nic Ritchie as well, and there were probably others. is it not at all possible AA's character deserves to be questioned?
